September 17, 2016 - September 24, 2016€265
Join Cathy Moran and Lauren Munday for a week’s immersion into ashtanga yoga jointly led by two KPJAYI authorised teachers, ensuring plenty of attention and expert guidance for all levels of students.
Traditional morning mysore sessions will be complemented by more informal afternoon workshops and discussions.
This is an opportunity to explore your yoga practice in a relaxed setting. Expect a rejuvenating, insightful and fun filled week!
Cathy started attending yoga classes in 1999. Although initially interested in various forms, she always found herself drawn to the strength, flow and discipline of the ashtanga system.
A trip to Yoga Plus in Crete 2002 kick-started a dedication to daily mysore practice (despite not being a ‘morning’ person!), initially learning with Alexander Medin, later on with Hamish Hendry at Ashtanga Yoga London.
In 2008 she made her first trip to The Krishna Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India. Since then she has returned regularly for extended periods of study with her teacher R Sharath Jois and in 2014 received level 2 authorization to teach the primary and intermediate series.
Cathy now runs Glasgow’s only daily Mysore self practice programme. Her passion is for the practice of ashtanga as taught by Shri K Pattabhi Jois and his family in Mysore. She endeavours to teach, share and pass this method on to others as it was taught to her, in an approachable, friendly and compassionate way.
Lauren has been a student of Hamish Hendry since 2007 and has assisted him at Ashtanga Yoga London since 2011. In 2010 she made her first trip to Mysore to study with R.Sharath Jois at the Shri K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) and has since returned each year to further her studies. Lauren received authorisation to teach the system from Sharath in 2013 and was lucky enough to assist him on her most recent trip to Mysore.
Lauren completed a 500 hour Yoga Alliance teacher training with Melanie Cooper in 2011 and is a qualified Yoga Therapist, gaining her qualification through Yoga Campus.
Her teaching follows the guidance she has received from her teachers Sharath Jois and Hamish Hendry. She is dedicated to creating a safe and compassionate space within the Mysore room so that students can experience the transformation that comes from daily practice.
