Suryalila Retreat, Cadiz, Spain
Suryalila is brand new retreat centre due to open in March 2012 in Cadiz, Spain. Founder Vidya Heisel has been teaching yoga for thirty years, and has spent the last six teaching and travelling extensively around the globe. Vidya’s quest to find the perfect retreat centre, where nothing was missing finally brought her to put down roots in Spain and create her dream centre.
At its core is excellent organic vegetarian food, outstanding customer service and inspiring yoga in a beautiful renovated ‘finca’ in the Andalusian countryside.
Accomodation
Suryalila is a like a small village – with eight separate whitewashed houses, with beautiful Moorish arched windows and rooms decorated with furnishings from Morocco, Bali and India. Altogether Suryalila can comfortably accommodate up to forty guests. There are two spacious yoga rooms with wooden floors, high ceilings and all yoga props. And in the garden is a salt-water swimming pool.
Stunning Mountain Location
Located near the coastal town of Cadiz, Suryalila is an idyllic rural retreat set amongst ancient olive trees and surrounded by mountains and national parks. There is great hiking, climbing, cycling and horse riding available to guests and excursions are offered to the nearby beaches on the beautiful and undeveloped coast of the Costa de la Luz.
Cultural Activities
Nurturing the spirit as well as the body, cultural excursions are also on offer to the nearby cities and towns of Seville, Ronda, Cadiz, Arcos de la Frontera and Zahara de la Sierra. Here you can visit the beautiful winding streets of these ancient towns, resplendent with elaborate Moorish architecture, and dotted with fabulous medieaval Spanish palaces. You can also enjoy evenings of flamenco guitar and dancing and sample the famous tapas bars.
Organic vegetarian food
A wonderful chef prepares tasty and nutritious organic vegetarian meals using Suryalila’s home-grown fruit and vegetables, supplemented by produce from local organic farms. Happy resident chickens provide delicious eggs and olive oil is produced from the property’s own olive trees.
