Are you ready to take the next step in your personal growth? Are you interested in exploring meditation to encounter the deeper layers of your mind?

Do you know that there is more available for you in life if only you could get beyond the constant chatter of your mind?

If you are curious about doing a ten day Vipassana Silent Meditation retreat but you are a little afraid to jump right into the deep end, this is a good weekend retreat for you. With you in mind, I have designed this as a weekend intro to Vipassana meditation for you to have a taste of the amazing benefits of this precious practice.

If this is you then join me for this weekend devoted to Inner Freedom.

I will be teaching you the four foundations of Mindfulness Meditation practices from the Theravada Buddhist tradition (the home of the Vipassana 10 Day Silent Retreats). We will also cover the four Divine Abidings (divine states), and the Four Noble Truths.

As well there will be extra instruction in EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). EFT is a powerful emotional healing modality that I find is a nice compliment to a meditation practice. It’s a way of working deeply and easily with stuck emotions and negative belief systems.

Vipassana – a word from the Pali language that was spoken at the time of the Buddha, 2500 years ago in India, translates as ‘Insight’. This style of meditation is dedicated to discovering and encountering the workings of the mind, emotions and physical body. It is a process of investigation, where you progressively learn different meditation techniques to help you to understand all of the processes that happen in order to create the reality of the life we live, and teach you how to become the master and not the slave of your mind.

In keeping with the Vipassana tradition this will be a weekend devoted to meditation practice, with no phones, internet or reading materials, so that you can focus completely on turning inwards.

Hosted at the beautiful beachside Ashram Gedong Ghandi, this is the perfect environment for doing deep spiritual healing work.

Gedong Ghandi Ashram is a beautiful family owned ashram in Candidasa, East Bali. Set in beautiful tropical gardens right in front of the beach, it is a haven of peace and quiet in this visually beautiful and peaceful region of Bali. Accomodation is in traditional Balinese style individual huts with ensuite bathrooms, either single occupancy or twin share.

The meditation shala is right in front of the beach. The waves are one of our meditation objects!

Accomodation is in beautiful simple individual bungalows like the one below, either shared or single occupancy. Each one has an ensuite bathroom.

This retreat includes 3 nights accommodation in the price – Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night.

Your Teacher


Michelle Taffe has done over 10,000 hours of meditation practice, and has had a daily sitting practice for the last 15 years. She has facilitated her own and been a co-facilitator of silent retreats in Australia and Thailand, and has completed three Vipassana retreats as a participant.

She is a registered Mindfulness teacher with Mindfulness Works Australia, and she also has a number of guided meditations on the Insight Timer App which have been downloaded thousands of times.

Also a qualified (RYT 200) yoga teacher, she is very passionate about the life changing benefits learning meditation as a compliment to a yoga practice and of the profound shifts that can take place once a regular meditation practice has been established.

Her meditation teachers include Steve and Rosemary Weissman formerly of Wat Kow Tham Buddhist Meditation Centre and Monastery in Thailand, Anthony Markwell of Indriya Retreat Dhamma and Meditation Centre (Thailand) and Acharya Premananda of Rudra Retreat Centre (Spain). Her main yoga teachers are KPJAYI authorised Greg and Tracy Cooper from the Ashtanga Yoga Centre of Melbourne, as well as Vijay Kumar, Ashtanga Yoga Acharya in Mysore, India.

I am doing this retreat in the spirit of Dana, or donation. Dana means the spirit of generosity, which helps cultivate giving without attachment to the outcome of the gift.

Traditionally, Buddhist meditation retreats at Buddhist monasteries are offered on a Dana basis, because it is understood that these teachings are priceless, and should be available to all. The teachings are a gift, and then those who receive the teachings are invited to gift the teacher, according to their means, and the value they feel they received.

The spirit of Dana helps to cultivate non-attachment on the part of the teacher and the student (the giver and the receiver) – the teacher is not teaching because they want something from you, but because they wholeheartedly believe in the value of these teachings and want all beings to be able to benefit from them.

Just to be clear, this is not a free retreat, but it is offered freely in the spirit of a gift, without an attachment to the outcome (donations received). This work is my livelihood and I do have living costs that I need to cover. I will offer you some guidance as to how you might work out what is an appropriate amount for you to donate for the teachings.

Dana also invites the receiver to reflect on what they have received, and give freely to the giver from their heart, according to what feels aligned and right for them.

(3 x Rp 350,000 per one person in a single room per night + 3 daily meals)

TWIN ROOM 2 People Sharing: 1,350,000 Indonesia Rupiah (Rp)

(3 x Rp 450,000 per two people sharing the room per night + 3 daily meals)


Donation (Dana) for the Teacher

At the end of the retreat you will be invited to reflect on what you have received and offer a donation to me that is right and aligned for you.
